Council letter on U.S. Government Commitments

The Council sent a letter on December 15, 2023 regarding the U.S. government commitments developed in partnership with tribes and states to restore wild salmon populations in the Columbia River Basin, including commitments to clean energy planning and production.
The letter, which was also sent to the four Northwest governors, congressional delegation, and other policymakers, outlines the Council’s congressionally mandated responsibilities under the Northwest Power Act and emphasizes the need for thoughtful engagement and coordination toward goals that intersect with the Council’s work.
